BELLEVILLE – An Oklahoma man is suing a driver and two establishments after his mother was struck in Collinsville by an intoxicated driver.

Christopher McKay, individually and administrator of the estate of Rene King, filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Max P. Minton, Kahokian Memorial VFW Post No. 5691 and Flyin' Lion LLC, doing business as Hurricane's Bar & Grill, alleging wrongful death and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 29, Rene King was a pedestrian and was attempting to cross Vandalia Street in Collinsville when Minton struck her with his vehicle. King later died, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges Minton drove his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and the remaining defendants allegedly sold alcohol to Minton.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this suit.

He is represented by E. Ryan Bradley of The Bradley Law Firm in St. Louis.
