EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver following a rear-end collision on Route 143.
Jamie M. Davis filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Laura D. Ketzer, alleging she breached her duty to exercise reasonable care and caution in operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 9, 2016, she was driving a 2005 Ford Escape and was stopped at a traffic red light on Route 143 when Ketzer negligently caused the Chevrolet Cavalier she was operating to strike the rear of Davis' vehicle.
The plaintiff alleges Ketzer failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to reduce speed, stop or take evasive actions to avoid collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this action.
She is represented by Matthew R. Chapman of Becker, Schroader & Chapman PC in Granite City.
