Woman claims she was injured, had medical expenses as a result of Troy Road crash

Car accident 43

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver is suing another motorist, citing alleged negligence.

Carolyn E. Turner filed a complaint Oct. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Patricia C. Carter, alleging Carter breached her duty to act reasonably to avoid a collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 8, 2016, she was driving north on Troy Road near its intersection with Governors Parkway when the defendant's vehicle hit the plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff claims she was injured, and as a result became disabled and disfigurement and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Carter responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to reduce speed, stop or maneuver her vehicle to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief the court deems just. She is represented by Rodney D. Caffey and Ralph J. Mendelson of The Caffey Law Firm LC in Godfrey.
