BELLEVILLE — A patient claims she slipped and fell on the polished floor of an x-ray room while attempting to stand unassisted on one foot.
Katherine Anderson filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Associated Foot Surgeon of Belleville Ltd., alleging it failed to properly train and supervise its employees.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 23, 2015, she was a patient in the defendant's x-ray room when she slipped and fell on the polished floor.
As a result, she claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries that caused her to suffer intense pain and expended large amount of money for medical care.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant's employee negligently placed paper booties on her feet, let her stand on one foot and raise the other foot and failed to provide adequate assistance.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
