Motorist alleges injuries from Collinsville Road collision

EDWARDSVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured when another driver failed to obey a traffic control device in Madison County.

Victoria Cox filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lawrence Behrends, alleging he failed to exercise due care and caution.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 8, 2016, she was operating a motor vehicle on Collinsville Road when the defendant's vehicle violently collided with her vehicle. As a result, she claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in extreme pain and suffering, loss wages, disability and incurred medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Behrends failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to obey a traffic control device.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000 plus costs of this action.

She is represented by John T. Papa of Callis Papa & Szewczyk PC in Granite City.
