Former Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis employee alleges wrongful termination

Contract 06

EDWARDSVILLE – An Aviston woman alleges she was wrongfully terminated because her co-workers violated contract terms.

Elizabeth Deiters filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis LLC, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she complained numerous times that the defendant's other community relations representatives were violating contract terms by obtaining referrals and admissions from the plaintiff's assigned territory.

She alleges the defendant intentionally failed or refused to credit her for these referrals and admissions. She claims she was terminated on June 2 because of an insufficient number of referrals and admissions. She also alleges that she was discharged because of her disability, history of disability and/or perceived disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, costs of suit and all other relief the court may deem fair and equitable.

She is represented by Mark S. Schuver of Mathis, Marifian & Richter LTD in Belleville.
