Motorist seeks more than $50,000 after accident involving Agency for Community Transit

Car accident 01

EDWARDSVILLE – A man is seeking damages from the Agency for Community Transit after a collision involving an employee in Granite City.

Joshua C. Sikes filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Amanda Lanham, as employee of Community Transit, and the Agency for Community Transit alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Sikes alleges that in Sept. 19, 2016, he was driving in a general northbound direction along and upon Nameoki Road in Granite City when his vehicle was struck by defendant Lanham, who was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Fleetline owned by Community Transit. As a result, Sikes claims he suffered physical injuries, great pain and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Lanham allegedly failed to keep a proper or any look out for other traffic on a public roadway, failed to reduce speed and failed to properly follow the signaling devices provided at the intersection pursuant to state law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. He is represented by Benjamin T. Stephens of Johnston Law Offices PC in Edwardsville.
