BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she was injured when she tripped on automobile debris outside a man's property.
Lydia Funk filed a complaint on Aug. 28 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mitchell Ross, alleging he failed to maintain the sidewalk in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 28, she was walking on the sidewalk in front of the defendant's premises when she tripped on automobile debris.
As a result, she claims she sustained injuries resulting in disfigurement, loss of income and medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Ross negligently allowed automobile debris to remain on the sidewalk and failed to warn pedestrians of the existence of the debris.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of over $50,000, plus costs of this action.
