Motorist alleges vehicle was rear-ended by distracted driver in Alton

EDWARDSVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured in an Alton collision because of the actions of a distracted driver.

Ashley V. Rhodes filed a complaint on Sept. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jerad R. Warix alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 14, 2015, she was operating her vehicle when the defendant negligently rear-ended her vehicle. 

Rhodes alleges she sustained injuries both externally and internally and was caused to suffer great pain, mental anguish, lost wages and incurred medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Warix negligently drove his vehicle while distracted and failed to stop or reduce speed to avoid colliding with her vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief as the court deems appropriate. 

She is represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
