EDWARDSVILLE – A Granite City father and his minor son are seeking damages after a collision in the city.
Michael Weeks Sr. and Michael Weeks Jr., a minor, filed a complaint on Sept. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Fred M. Gorman alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 12, 2016, Michael Weeks Sr. was operating a motor vehicle in which Michael Weeks Jr. was a passenger, when the defendant negligently caused his vehicle to crash into plaintiffs' vehicle. As a result of the accident, they allegedly sustained bodily injuries that caused them to suffer great pain and mental anguish and incur medical expenses.
The plaintiffs hold Gorman responsible because the defendant allegedly drove while distracted and failed to properly apply the brakes of his vehicle.
The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $50,000 each, cost of the suit and all other relief that the court may deem appropriate. They are represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
