EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing Electro Express LLC and its employee after he was allegedly injured when his forklift was struck by a commercial vehicle.

Claude Muse filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Zijad Salihovic and Electro Express LLC, alleging they failed to exercise reasonable care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 29, 2015, he was severely and permanently injured when the forklift he was operating was struck by a commercial vehicle being driven by Salihovic and owned by Electro.

He claims he sustained injuries to his back, neck and other parts of his body.

The plaintiff alleges Salihovic failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to slacken speed, swerve or stop to avoid colliding with plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000, costs for this action and such other just and proper relief.

He is represented by Richard K. Johnson of Johnson Gray LLC in St. Louis.
