Widow names Ameron International Corp., others in asbestos suit over husband's death

Asbestos 13

BELLEVILLE – A widow alleges her husband's lung cancer and death was caused by exposure to asbestos for decades.

Rosemary Bullock, individually and as special representative of the estate of Billy Bullock, deceased filed a complaint on July 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ameron International Corp., Armstrong Pumps Inc., Aurora Pump Co., Bechtel Corp., et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during Billy Bullock's employment from 1966 to 2009, he was exposed to and inhaled asbestos fibers from certain products manufactured, sold, distributed or installed by defendants. As a result, he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015, an asbestos-induced disease, and died on Jan. 13, 2016.

The plaintiff holds Ameron International Corp., Armstrong Pumps Inc., Aurora Pump Co., Bechtel Corp., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently included asbestos fibers in their products when adequate substitutes were available and failed to provide adequate warnings and instructions concerning the dangers of working with or around products containing asbestos fibers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian & Associates PC in Edwardsville.
