BENTON – Two St. Clair County businesses claim a Florida company and its founders are unlawfully using confidential information.
Corcoran Consulting LLC and B & B Mills Consulting Inc. filed a complaint on July 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against CREMServices LLC, doing business as Moneycall.com; Robert Corcoran; Brenda Corcoran; et al., alleging violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
According to the complaint, Robert Corcoran founded Corcoran Consulting LLC in 1989, and B & B Mills Consulting Inc. is a sole member. Robert Corcoran worked for the plaintiffs as an independent contractor until July 31, the suit states.
However, he and Brenda Corcoran then formed CREMServices LLC to compete with the plaintiffs.
The plaintiffs allege the defendants have used or duplicated their confidential information without authorization to compete with them.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury compensatory damages, attorney fees, costs and all further relief as the court deems just and proper.
They are represented by Donald K. Shoemaker and Cherie Macdonald of Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale PC in Swansea.
