BENTON – A St. Louis man has filed suit against an Alton excavating business after its dog allegedly attacked him.
Frank Ford filed a complaint on July 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Stutz Excavating Inc., alleging negligence and violations of the Animal Control Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 23, 2015, he was injured at the defendant's premises when he was attacked by a dog owned by Stutz.
As a result, he claims he suffered pain, disfigurement, loss of normal life and income and incurred medical bills.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to restrain the dog and to warn plaintiff of its tendencies to attack people.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $75,000, plus costs of the suit.
