Ameren employee accused of causing Wood River collision

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims an Ameren Illinois employee side-swiped his vehicle in Wood River. 

Jeffrey J. Allen filed a complaint on May 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Ameren Illinois Company and driver David A. Hall, alleging Hall failed to properly operate the vehicle he was driving.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 7, 2015, he was lawfully operating his motor vehicle when Ameren employee Hall side-swiped his vehicle at the intersection of Wood River Avenue and Edwardsville Road. 

The plaintiff claims he sustained injuries resulting in physical and mental pain, disfigurement, disability, medical expenses and lost earnings. 

The plaintiff alleges Hall failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain a safe speed and failed to avoid plaintiff's vehicle

The plaintiff seeks judgment against each defendant in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit.
