Mortgage on Saline County property in default, feds claim

Late 04

BENTON – The owners of a Saline County property are alleged to have defaulted on the mortgage.

The United States of America, through the Rural Housing Service, filed a suit Feb. 14 against Danny R. Brown, Amy Brown and DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas LLC, doing business as Chrysler Financial, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois alleging failure to pay.

According to the claim, the plaintiff allowed the defendants to mortgage the property located at blocks 1-10 in P.J. Walker's Addition to the village of Galatia, Saline County. The suit states that the defendants failed to pay off the balance that they owed, which now totals $111,824.60 including the interest and fees.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment for foreclosure and sale, attorneys' fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Donald S. Boyce and Gerald M. Burke of the United States Attorney's Office in Fairview Heights.
