EDWARDSVILLE – A mother alleges she slipped and injured both herself and her son while shopping at the Glen Carbon Sam's Club.
Cynthia Romero, individually and as mother/next friend of Kaleb Perez, filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in Madison County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., doing business as Sam's Club, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 27, 2015, she was a lawful business invitee at Sam's Club in Glen Carbon when she slipped and fell while holding her minor son.
As a result, she alleges they sustained severe injuries, resulting in pain and anguish, future loss of wages and gainful employment and medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently allowed the dangerous condition to exist on the premises and failed to warn of the existence of the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount of more than $50,000 each for her and her minor child, costs of this suit and all other relief as the court deems just and proper.
