Crash injuries allegedly tied to motorist's negligence

Car accident 25

EDWARDSVILLE – A Madison County resident is suing a motorist for alleged negligence in a 2015 collision accident that resulted in physical injury to the plaintiff.

Ebony Redd filed suit on Oct. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court against Amberle Mikuleza of Granite City, claiming negligen.

According to the suit, the plaintiff was traveling in a motor vehicle on a public highway near the intersection of 27th Street and Madison Avenue in Madison County on June 28, 2015, when the defendant allegedly rear-ended Redd’s vehicle at approximately 3:13 p.m.

The plaintiff contends that the defendant failed to keep an adequate lookout and concede the right of way to avoid the accident. Additionally, Redd claims that Mikuleza neglected to operate her car at a suitable speed under the prevailing conditons; failed to slow down to avoid the collision, and was following Redd’s vehicle too closely.

The plaintiff maintains that as a result of the accident, she suffered neck pain, chest pain and abdominal pain. Additionally, the defendant was cited for failure to reduce speed, comprising a clear violation of Illinois Vehicle Code.

Redd seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. The plaintiff is represented by James Eason of the Eason Law Firm in St. Louis.
