EDWARDSVILLE — A letter carrier is suing William F. Campbell and Morgan Campbell of Granite City, alleging that a hole in their lawn led the plaintiff to fracture her left ankle.
Lavatrice K. Morgan filed a complaint on May 26 in Madison County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they allegedly failed to use reasonable care for the safety of others.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 28 she was assigned a route to deliver mail to 1800 Poplar St. in Granite City, a property owned by the defendants. She says her foot went into a hole in the defendants' yard and twisted to the right, fracturing her ankle. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to fill in and repair the hole and failed to warn her of the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Thomas G. Maag of Maag Law Firm LLC in Wood River.
