EDWARDSVILLE – A passenger in a vehicle alleges he was injured in an accident in Madison.
Lance Bryant filed a complaint on May 16 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mechelle Fochtmann; Metro, doing business as Bi-State Development Agency; and Alexandra Gilbert, alleging that they failed to take the necessary precautions in operating a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 6, 2015, he was traveling in a motor vehicle driven by Gilbert when it was violently struck by another vehicle, which was being driven by Fochtmann and owned by Metro. The plaintiff alleges he acquired serious and permanent injuries because of the collision. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to avoid collision by observing the highest degree of care and by taking precautionary measures such as sounding a horn or giving a warning signal to avoid an accident.
The plaintiff seeks past, present and future damages incurred, an amount in excess of the minimum jurisdiction of fifty thousand dollars and plaintiff's costs. He is represented by Darin W. Sorrell of Sorrell & Traube in St. Louis, Missouri.
