Financial firm says man defaulted on three lease agreements

Contract 04

EDWARDSVILLE – A financial firm is suing over allegations of non-payment for three vehicles leased by the defendant.

Dakota Financial LLC filed the suit April 15 in Madison County Circuit Court against James Doty.

On three separate occasions in 2013 and 2014, the plaintiff and defendant entered into a lease agreement for three vehicles, according to the suit. Dakota Financial claims the defendant is in default for allegedly failing to make payments on the leases.

Pursuant to the leases, the plaintiff claims it is entitled to money damages.

As a result, the plaintiff seeks total payment on all three defaulted leases of $79,174, plus pre-judgment interest at 18% per year, attorney fees, court costs and other relief the court deems just. The plaintiff also requests the court to enter an order compelling the defendant to surrender the vehicles.

The plaintiff is represented by Thomas V. Askounis and C. Randall Woolley of Askounis & Darcy PC in Chicago.
