Man says he was injured in collision on ramp

EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist is suing over injuries he allegedly suffered when a tractor-trailer truck collided with the driver side of his vehicle.

Eric Jackson filed the suit April 1 in Madison County Circuit Court against Terry Michael Campbell and Byron L. Lang Inc., both of Jackson, Mo.

On Jan. 6, 2014, the Jackson was driving his vehicle on Interstate 255 at milepost 24. At the same time, Campbell, in the course of his employment with defendant Byron, was driving near the plaintiff and in the same direction.

As Jackson was attempting to exit to I-55/70 northbound, he moved left because the exit lane was closed by emergency personnel. When he moved, Campbell allegedly hit his vehicle.

Jackson alleges Campbell was allegedly negligent in causing the accident by traveling too close to the plaintiff, speeding and failing to reduce speed to avoid the collision. Jackson also alleges Campbell was inattentive to the snow and ice that caused a dangerous condition on the roadway.

Jackson claims the collision caused injuries to his back. He alleges he experiences pain and is still receiving treatment.

The plaintiff seeks from both defendants judgment in excess of $50,000, prejudgment interest and other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by James W. Eason of The Eason Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
