Plaintiffs claim credit union, employee mishandled their money

BELLEVILLE – The founder of a wellness center, the center itself and a Missouri resident are suing over the alleged mishandling of their money at a credit union.

Becky Anderson, Physicians Choice Wellness LLC and Tim O'Donnell filed the suit March 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Scott Credit Union and Theodore Longust.

The defendant credit union operates in Illinois where defendant Longust worked between 2005 and 2014 as Business Relationship Manager, the suit says.

Among the five counts against both defendants are consumer fraud, negligence, and negligent hiring by the credit union.

The suit touches on the following allegations against the defendants: they knowingly removed currency from plaintiffs' accounts and opened lines of credit in plaintiffs' names without authorization, denied access to their accounts, and knowingly misappropriated plaintiffs' funds.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against both defendants on all five counts of at least $50,000. They are represented by Grey Chatham Jr. of Chatham & Baricevic in Belleville.
