Citibank claims defendant owes money for unpaid student loans

BELLEVILLE – A bank is suing over a student loan that is allegedly unpaid.

 

United Guaranty Commercial Insurance Company of North Carolina, assignee of Citibank NA, as trustee for the Student Loan Corporation, filed the suit March 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Aaron R. Bahr.

On Oct. 9, 2004, the defendant entered into a student loan agreement with the plaintiff's assignor, the suit says.

The defendant is allegedly in default, owing $13,612, including interest and other charges. The plaintiff also seeks attorney fees of $350.

The defendant allegedly owes another $4,225 plus $350 in attorney fees, and a third amount owed of $16,566 plus $350 in attorney fees, the suit claims.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for all amounts owing plus court costs. It is represented by Robert G. Markoff of Markoff Law LLC in Chicago.
