BELLEVILLE – A Missouri couple is suing over injuries the wife allegedly received as the result of a car collision.
Karin Burrow and Brian Burrow filed the suit Jan. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Becky McClure of Fairview Heights, citing negligence.
On Feb. 3, 2014, Karin Burrow was driving her vehicle northbound near the 1400 block of North Illinois Street in St. Clair County in the right lane, according to the complaint.
The lawsuit states that the defendant was driving in a parking lot and attempting to turn right onto northbound North Illinois Street. It further says she pulled her vehicle into the plaintiff's lane of traffic and collided with the passenger side of the plaintiff's vehicle. She was cited for failing to yield the right of way to an approaching vehicle on a highway, the suit states.
McClure also was negligent in failing to stop to avoid a collision, failing to maintain a proper lookout and allowing her vehicle to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle, the lawsuit says. As a result, the plaintiff was allegedly injured, has lost her normal life and continues to pay medical bills. She has purportedly lost wages and is likely to in the future.
Brian Burrow is citing loss of consortium with his wife as a result of the collision. They both seek judgment in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional requirements of the court, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Joshua P. Myers and Aaron M. Vogel of Schultz & Myers LLC of St. Louis.
