Negligence, wrongful death among counts against Anderson Hospital and physician

EDWARDSVILLE – The special administrator of a man's estate is suing over his alleged wrongful death.

Shari Bogovich, as special administrator of the estate of Michael Bogovich and on behalf of his two children, filed the suit Jan. 27 in Madison County Circuit Court against Southwestern Illinois Health Facilities Inc., doing business as Anderson Hospital; Dr. Christopher T. Cruz; and Uptown Emergency Physicians LLP.

On June 13, 2014, the suit states the deceased was being treated by defendant Cruz at Anderson Hospital and subsequently at defendant Uptown Emergency Physicians LLP.

The suit states that the defendants were negligent in several ways and that negligence led to his wrongful death. Not only did the deceased suffer unnecessarily as a result of the negligent health care, the suit alleges, but his next of kin have been deprived of the value of his services, companionship, comfort, guidance, love and support they would have enjoyed had he not died.

The plaintiff seeks at least $50,000 for the three counts against the defendants, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin LTD of Belleville.
