BELLEVILLE – A Belleville nursing home is suing a patient, alleging lack of payment.
Midwest Rehabilitation and Respiratory Centre LLC filed the suit Jan. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Paul Ramsey of Belleville, alleging breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
Midwest Rehabilitation is a nursing home and skilled care facility. According to the complaint, on May 21, 2014, Ramsey entered into a contract with the plaintiff that the facility would provide certain services to the defendant in exchange for the defendant paying for those services.
The suit alleges Ramsey has not been paying an amount of more than $65,000, exclusive of 18 percent annual interest and attorney fees, both of which are recoverable under the contract.
Midwest Rehabilitation and Respiratory Centre seeks the $65,000, attorney fees and interest, plus other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by attorney Quinn M. Murphy of Summers Compton Wells LLC of St. Louis.
