By Carrie Bradon | Jan 3, 2016

A construction worker claims he was injured when he fell into a pipe well.

Wayne Spires filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against The Lane Construction Corporation alleging negligence.

While on a worksite in January 2015, Spires claims he fell into a pipe well he alleges was not properly maintained, according to the complaint. As a result, he allegedly suffered severe damages to his back, neck, face and head, and was permanently disabled.

Alleging negligence, Spires is suing Lane Construction for not properly marking the open well.

Spires is seeking compensation of more than $50,000. He is represented by Ronald J. Abernathy Jr. of Halvachs and Abernathy LLC in Belleville.
