Belleville motorist sues driver, owner of vehicle over collision

A Belleville woman is suing a driver and the vehicle owner, alleging negligence for injuries she says she suffered in an automobile accident.

Jennifer Moore filed the lawsuit Dec. 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against driver Kyle Wallace and car owner Lawrence Luecking.

On May 31, 2014, according to the complaint, Moore was driving a 2001 Nissan southbound on South Green Mount Road near the intersection with Golf Course Road in Belleville. At the same time, Wallace, in a 2000 Chevy Malibu, was also driving southbound along the same roadway, approaching the plaintiff's vehicle from behind.

The suit says Wallace drove into Moore's vehicle, failed to reduce speed, failed to be attentive, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to keep the vehicle under control, among other charges.

As a result of the collision, the suit states, the plaintiff suffered bodily injuries, causing disability and disfigurement, pain and suffering, medical bills, loss of income and loss of a normal life.

She blames Luecking, owner of the Chevy, for allowing Moore to drive the car.

Moore seeks from both defendants more than $50,000 in damages, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Kevin Boyne of Belleville.
