Patient alleges St. Anthony's Health Center, doctor guilty of medical negligence

An Illinois woman is suing an Alton health center and a doctor, alleging negligent treatment she received while under their care.

Aileen Isringhausen filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against OSF Healthcare System, doing business as OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton and Dr. Rama K. Gondi.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 26, 2013, Isringhausen was admitted to St. Anthony's Health Center's emergency department with shortness of breath. The plaintiff did not become aware of the unspecified injuries she allegedly incurred while under the defendants' care until Dec. 1, 2013, the suit says.

Three times the plaintiff has requested her medical records but the health center has not complied, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges she has endured severe, permanent, disabling and disfiguring injuries, substantial medical expenses, lost wages, and past and future pain and suffering.

Isringhausen seeks from both defendants at least $50,000, plus court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Robert D. Larson of Alton.
