Felicia Palmer filed the lawsuit Nov. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Protestant Memorial Medical Center, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, the plaintiff entered the hospital at 4500 Memorial Drive in Belleville when she tripped on an unsecured rug, which had become raised on the floor. The suit says her fall resulted in severe injuries to her neck, back and knees.
The plaintiff says she has experienced pain and suffering and expects to do so in the future. Also, she has experienced a loss in wages, and expects to do so in the future, the suit states.
In addition, the plaintiff would like the court, through discovery, to rule the defendant preserve the recording of her fall, and that she may receive a copy of it.
