Motorist blames another driver for Belleville auto accident

An Illinois man is suing a motorist, alleging negligence for injuries the plaintiff says he incurred from a collision with the defendant's vehicle.

Craig Literski filed a lawsuit on Nov. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Elizabeth Boulter.

According to the complaint, on July 1, Literski was driving westbound on Lebanon Avenue in Belleville, and Boulter was operating her vehicle on the same roadway in the same direction.

The suit says that because Boulter failed to keep proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to properly apply her brakes, was driving at an excessive rate of speed and was following too closely, she struck the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle.

The lawsuit states the plaintiff suffered injuries to his hips, back and shoulder, and he says he has suffered disability.

Literseki seeks a judgment of at least $50,000, plus court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 15-L-656.
