Belleville woman alleges motorist's negligence caused collision

A Belleville motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence over injuries allegedly sustained in a vehicle collision.

Dawn K. Schobert filed a lawsuit on Oct. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Heather L. Buehlhorn, alleging negligence.

On Dec. 19, 2013, the suit states, Schobert was operating a vehicle northbound on Frank Scott Parkway and was stopped at a red light approximately 200 feet south of its intersection at Belleville Crossing. At the same time, Buehlhorn was operating a vehicle behind Schobert and allegedly rear-ended Schobert's car, the suit says.

The lawsuit alleges Buehlhorn was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, driving faster than reasonable, and failing to yield to other traffic.

As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained personal injuries, loss of income, loss of normal life, pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Schobert seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by attorney Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 15-L-614.
