A St. Clair County motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing an accident that left the plaintiff severely injured.

Keenan Lane filed a lawsuit on Oct. 19, in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Anne Flahive, alleging vehicular negligence.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 4, 2013, while Lane was traveling southbound on North Green Mount Road in Shiloh, his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Flahive. The suit says Flahive failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, was driving at an excessive rate of speed and didn't properly apply brakes, all contributing to the accident.

The lawsuit alleges that because of Flahive's negligence, the plaintiff sustained severe and permanent injuries to his neck, back and shoulder, all which needed and will continue to require medical treatment, plus lost wages due to his injuries.

Lane seeks $50,000 plus the cost of this suit. He is is represented by attorneys Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.
