An Alton company is suing an insurance firm and an engineering business, alleging an unpaid balance for goods and services provided.
Environmental Resources of Alton filed a lawsuit on Sept. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against The Guarantee Company of North America USA and Kroeschell Engineering Company, alleging breach of contract.
The suit states Kroeschell and Guarantee subcontracted Environmental Resources to perform asbestos abatement and demolition work on a hospital at the Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County. Environmental Resources submitted invoices to Kroeschell for said work in the amount of approximately $418,000, the suit says.
To date, the suit alleges, Kroeschell has paid Environmental Resources only approximately $300,000, leaving a remaining balance of approximately $118,000.
The suit alleges the defendants have unjustly refused to pay the outstanding balance and interest.
Environmental Resources seeks to recover the outstanding balance, plus interest and court costs. It is represented by attorney William D. Holthaus Jr. of Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale in St. Louis.
