Woman claims automobile accident left her disabled and disfigured, sues for negligence

A woman is suing another motorist for allegedly causing an accident that left the plaintiff disabled and disfigured.

Ladonna M. Glasper filed a lawsuit on Sept. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Janaya A. Heath claiming Heath's negligence caused an accident that left her injured.

According to the complaint, Glasper claims that on July 8, 2014, while driving on S. Illinois Street in Belleville, she was hit by a vehicle driven by Heath.

Glasper claims Heath failed to keep proper lookout for other motorists, was speeding, failed to reduce her speed and failed to obey the traffic signal located at the intersection, the suit states.

Glasper alleges Heath's negligence led to the accident and caused her several severe injuries, which she claims requires medical attention and has continued to require her to pay large sums of money, disability and disfigurement. She also alleges pain and suffering, lost wages, and loss of earning capacity.

Glasper is seeking an amount in excess of $50,000 as well as costs of this suit and any other relief the court deems fit. Glasper is represented by Rodney D. Caffey of the Caffey Law Firm, LLC., in Godfrey.
