A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.
William Mabrey filed a lawsuit against Alex Bucharelli, Altech Inspections, Inc. and Qualspec Inc. on Aug. 15 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court, citing negligence. Altech has converted its name and organization to Qualspec Inc.
According to the complaint, Mabrey was stopped in his 1971 Plymouth GTX in a construction zone on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway in Rock Island County on Aug. 24, 2013, when he claims he was rear-ended by a 2013 Dodge Charger driven by Bucharelli.
Mabrey claims Bucharelli was negligent by failing to reduce his speed.
Mabrey named Altech and Qualspec as defendants because they allegedly provided Bucharelli with the vehicle as an employee for both companies.
Mabrey alleges he suffered severe, progressive and disabling injuries to his head, neck, brain right hand and right arm.
He is seeking in an amount in excess of $50,000, for his costs incurred and expended. Mabrey is being represented by St. Louis County-based attorney Matthew T. Nagel.
