St. Clair County woman sues bowling alley following slip and fall

A St. Clair County resident is suing a bowling alley after she allegedly slipped on a substance on the floor of a bowling lane.

Charlotte Lash filed a lawsuit against St. Clair Bowl Inc. in the St. Clair County Circuit Court on Aug. 21, citing negligence for a fall that occurred on or about Dec. 3, 2013.

According to the complaint, while approaching the lane, Lash claims she slipped and fell on a slippery substance, believed to be oil. She claims St. Clair Bowl Inc. was negligent in failing to warn her of the slippery floor and failing to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance of their premises.

Lash is seeking compensation for suffering in the future, severe injury and pain, lost wages, past and future medical bills, and pain and suffering and disability as a result of St. Clair Bowl’s alleged negligence. She is asking for an amount of more than $50,000.

She is represented by Belleville-based attorney Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beasley & Young LLC.

20th Judicial Circuit Court St. Clair County case number 15-L-476.
