A Madison County therapist is suing her husband’s ex-wife for alleged defamation related to her business.
Sharonda Brown-Wilson filed suit on Sept. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Kimberley Terrell.
According to the complaint, Brown-Wilson alleges that on June 29, Terrell told another party that Brown-Wilson was not trustworthy and was cheating on her husband. The plaintiff states that these allegations are false and were allegedly made to damage her reputation and her business, which relies on word-of-mouth referrals to gain clients. The suit alleges Brown-Wilson lost clients as a result of her false statements.
Attorney Brandon M. Wise of The Wise Firm LLC in St. Louis and Christopher B. Bent of the Law Office of Christopher Bent, also in St. Louis, are representing the plaintiff, who is seeking actual and compensatory damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation fees.
