Driver sues over alleged rear-end collision in Hartford

A Madison County woman is suing a motorist following a collision she alleges caused more than $50,000 in damages.

Tiffany M. Reed filed a lawsuit on July 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against Roy E. Dunn, alleging negligence when he allegedly crashed his vehicle into hers in February.

According to the filing, on Feb. 1, Reed was driving in Hartford when Dunn rear-ended the plaintiff’s vehicle.

The suit says Reed is charged with breach of duty of care and negligence for driving while distracted, failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and failing to apply brakes and stop before colliding with the plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained internal and external injuries resulting in disability and disfigurement. The suit says she suffered pain and anguish, loss of future earnings and medical expenses.

Reed seeks more than $50,000, plus attorney, fees, costs and whatever other remedy is deemed appropriate by the court. Reed is represented by attorney Gregory Tobin of Pratt & Tobin in East Alton.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-887.
