A man claims he suffered severe injuries after a driver struck his motorcycle.
Michael K. Lemp filed a lawsuit Nov. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Manuel A. Gomez.
In his complaint, Lemp alleges he drove a 2009 Harley-Davidson Nightster west on Collinsville Road at Harvard Place in Nameoki Township on July 6 when a 2000 Ford Windstar struck him. The Windstar was registered to Gomez, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, Lemp suffered pain and mental anguish, endured disability and disfigurement, was prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs and lost wages, the suit states. He also incurred medical costs, the complaint says.
Lemp blames Gomez for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep proper control of his vehicle and struck Lemp’s vehicle.
In his complaint, Lemp is seeking a judgment of more than $75,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by Samantha S. Unsell of Keefe and Keefe in Belleville.
