A woman says she was hurt when another driver ran a red light in Granite City and crashed into her.

Heather E. Hays filed a lawsuit against Kenneth W. Crutchley Nov. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Hays was driving on West Pontoon Road in January 2012. At the intersection of Illinois Route 3 Crutchley, also driving on West Pontoon Road, allegedly drove through a red light and crashed into Hays.

Hays claims Crutchley was distracted while driving and is suing him for negligence. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages for loss of income, medical bills and court fees.

Attorney Gregory M. Tobin of East Alton represents Hays.
