Man injured at strip club sues attacker and establishment

A man has filed suit against a strip club where he claims he was hit.

Jorden Basford claims he was visiting PTs Sports Cabaret in Sauget on Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 when defendant Justin Filson struck him at about 2 a.m.

Because of the incident, Basford suffered severe injuries, endured permanent disfigurement and lost his enjoyment of life, according to the complaint filed Nov. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Filson negligently caused his arm to come into contact with Basford, caused a glass to come into contact with him and failed to act in a safe manner, the suit states.

In addition to Filson, Basford named VCG Holding Corporation as a defendant, saying it owned the nightclub where he was attacked.

In his complaint, Basford seeks a judgment of more than $200,000, plus costs.

Basford will be represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-576.
