Collinsville Walmart sued over customer's slip in pool of dish soap

A woman is suing a Collinsville Walmart after she allegedly slipped on dish soap in one of the store's aisles.

Tami Snyder filed a lawsuit against Walmart Stores Inc. Nov. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Snyder says she was a customer of the Collinsville Crossing Boulevard Walmart in May 2012 when she stepped in a pool of dish soap and fell to the floor. Snyder claims she hurt her shoulder and knee in the fall.

Snyder accuses Walmart of negligence for failing to provide a safe shopping environment and failing to warn customers of the dangerous conditions of the floor. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages and court costs.

Attorney Randall P. Steele of Glen Carbon represents her.
