A Granite City couple is suing a Tennessee trucking company after one of its drivers allegedly backed his truck into the couple's car.
Denise and Morris McGee filed a lawsuit Oct. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court against Danny Herman Trucking Inc. and Tomas Serrano.
According to the complaint, the McGees were driving north on Illinois Route 203 in Granite City in November 2011 directly behind a Kenworth truck driven by Serrano. Near the intersection of Harris Street, the McGees say Serrano backed the truck down the highway, in the opposite direction of traffic, and crashed into their vehicle.
Denise McGee claims her back was hurt in the crash. The couple accuses Serrano and his employer, Herman Trucking, of negligence. They ask for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, repairs to the car and costs of the lawsuit.
Attorneys Ronald Robinson and Eric W. Evans of St. Louis represent the McGees.
