The owner of a Worden service station is accused of driving across the center line and crashing into another car in the Township of Marine.
John J. and Kiersten J. Schoen filed a lawsuit Oct. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court against Todd Schlechte, individually and doing business as Schlechte's Service.
The Schoens say they were driving north on Illinois Route 4 in November 2011 when Schlechte, driving south, crossed the center line and crashed into them. The Schoens are suing Schlechte for negligence and loss of consortium. They seek more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses and court fees.
Attorneys J. Joseph Kusmierczak, Benjamin R. Schmickle, Matthew C. Morris and Lauren E. Boaz, of St. Louis, represent the Schoens. They ask for a jury trial.
