An airplane mechanic’s case against the Bethalto airport was continued for a case management conference to Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. before Madison County Circuit Judge Dennis Ruth.
According to the lawsuit filed on May 10, Michael C. Pagano claims he was working as a mechanic for West Star Aviation in May 2012 and was repairing a plane engine in one of the hangars at the St. Louis Regional Airport in Behtalto when he fell 10 feet off the jet.
He was allegedly standing on a pylon of the jet engine, which is the area where the engine attaches to the plane, when he slipped.
Pagano accuses the St. Louis Regional Airport Authority of negligence for failing to provide safety harnesses, lanyards or nets to protect employees if a fall should occur while working on an engine.
The plaintiff seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.
