Case management conference set in suit against Odesco over retaliatory discharge claims

Madison County Circuit Judge William Mudge scheduled a case management conference for Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. in a laborer’s lawsuit against Odesco Industrial Services in South Roxana on claims of retaliatory discharge.

Plaintiff Charles Seehausen, Jr. claims he was loading pipes on March 30, 2010, which was less than two weeks from the date he began working for Odesco, when his right hand was crushed while loading pipes.

He claims that after he was treated for his injury, his employer allegedly began to harass him and subjected him to disparate treatment. He believes the alleged poor treatment was in retaliation for Seehausen filing workers’ compensation benefits.

The lawsuit then states that the plaintiff reported to his supervisor on Dec. 1, 2010, that he allegedly slipped and fell, injuring his knee. He claims this resulted in his termination from Odesco on Dec. 3, 2010.

Seehausen seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.

Mark S. Schuyer of Mathis, Marifian & Richter in Belleville represents the plaintiff.

Devlin J. Schoop of Laner Muchin, Ltd. in Chicago represents the defendant.
