Rear-end accident in East St. Louis leads to suit

A St. Clair County woman is suing the driver she says rear-ended her while driving in East St. Louis.

Cherri Sargent filed the lawsuit against Jeremy Williams Aug. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Sargent says she was driving north on Old Lebanon Road Jan. 10 when she was hit from behind by a car being driven by Williams. Sargent claims she was seriously hurt in the crash and accuses Williams of negligence. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees.
