Citizens Community Bank sues over unpaid loans

A St. Jacob cabinet company is being sued by a St. Clair County bank that claims it is owed nearly $60,000 in unpaid loans.

Citizens Community Bank filed a lawsuit July 30 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mid-West Millwork Wholesale LLC and David L. Stafford.

Citizens Community Bank loaned $25,000 to Mid-West Millwork, according to the complaint, in August 2011. The agreement allegedly stated the entire balance of the loan would be due by May 18. The bank also claims it agreed to loan another $35,000 to Mid-West Millwork on Jan. 18, with that full balance also due on May 18.

Citizens Community Bank contends Stafford, who is the guarantor on the loan, and Mid-West Millwork have failed to pay off the loans, which, including interest, total nearly $60,000. The lender asks for a judgment of more than $120,000 plus interest and court costs.

Attorney Myron A. Hanna, of Belleville's Hanna & Volmert law firm, represents the bank.
